Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Med/Surg RN for a night shift (7P-7:30A) travel assignment requiring TN or compact RN licensure and prior Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit within a 95-bed, Joint Commission-accredited acute care hospital
• 19-bed unit caring for geriatric and adult patients, with occasional pediatric cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Rotates every other weekend, with possible additional weekends based on need
• May be placed on call or floated depending on census
• Float requirements include medical detox, ICU, OB, or ER, and may take low-level Med/Surg overflow patients in ICU at a 1:3 ratio
• Uses Welch Allyn vital machines, Masimo bedside monitors, CareView, telemetry, Sara Stedy, and ARJO lift equipment
• Uses MEDHOST EHR with clinical experience preferred
• Unit Secretary/Monitor Tech stationed at the Med/Surg nurses station

Requirements

• Active RN or LPN license valid in TN (Standard or Compact)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA certifications required)
• 1-2+ years of RN experience required, with Med/Surg experience specifically required
• Certification/licensure required to practice as an RN or LPN/LVN in TN
• Must pass a Tennessee Abuse Registry background check prior to start
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care to a geriatric and adult Med/Surg population with occasional pediatric cases
• Work under the supervision of the MS/ICU Director and CNC
• Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
• Any scrub color accepted except printed scrubs
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for the travel rate
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles are eligible only for the local pay rate
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
