Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level 1 trauma hospital, requiring a CO or compact RN license and 2+ years of operating room experience.

Details

• Level 1 trauma acute care setting with 17 surgical suites
• Handles approximately 35 weekday and 10 weekend cases per day
• Common case types include Ortho, Neuro, and General surgery
• Night shift schedule, 7p-730a Tuesday-Thursday
• Weekend shifts available at 7a-7p Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Uses EPIC EMR system
• No scrubbing required for RNs
• No floating required
• No weeknight or weekend call requirements
• Holiday coverage required only if it falls on a regularly scheduled weekend shift
• Call response time of 30 minutes when applicable

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Trauma experience required
• BSN not required for this position
• Driver's license copy required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across Ortho, Neuro, and General surgical cases
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Unit-specific orientation provided, with 12 orientation hours
• Clinicians must be in-state for orientation week, though first-day modules may be completed remotely
• Must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible for the position
• Float radius policy applies, requiring travelers to secure housing within the assigned float zone
• Candidates who have been directly employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility within the past year are not eligible
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts during the 13-week assignment
