Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift position at a tertiary teaching hospital, requiring 3+ years of experience and RRT certification.

Details

  • Tertiary, teaching hospital, Level 1 trauma center setting
  • Respiratory Therapy department covering the entire facility with a team of 14-16 RRTs
  • Acute patient ratio of 1:25 and critical patient ratio of 1:8
  • Uses Drager V500 and VN500, Hamilton T1 and C1, Respironics V30 and V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm ventilators
  • EMR: EPIC
  • Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
  • On-call requirement with 2-hour response time for oncoming shift
  • Float requirement includes NICU/PICU, acute care pediatrics, ED, and adult acute and critical care
  • 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed

Requirements

  • RRT certification required
  • BLS required, ACLS preferred, NRP required for NICU
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 3+ years of respiratory therapy experience required
  • Tertiary, teaching hospital, and Level 1 trauma experience required
  • NICU/PICU cardiothoracic experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • 2 professional references required

Additional Information

  • Provide respiratory therapy coverage across varied patient populations throughout the facility
  • Work as part of a large, collaborative RRT team
  • Flexible, team-oriented candidates with strong communication skills preferred
  • Scrubs provided or flexible scrub color policy
  • Local candidates may be considered, though local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local
  • Earbuds, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit
  • RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract at manager's discretion
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
