Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ED position at a Level 1 trauma, stroke, and burn center requiring at least 1 year of Tele, Stepdown, or ED experience.
Details
- Emergency Department setting within a 68-bed unit
- Level 1 trauma, stroke, and burn center with high patient volume (200+ patients/day preferred)
- Patient ratios typically 4:1, subject to change during surge conditions
- Day shift schedule, 07:00-19:30
- Weekend hours required as needed by facility
- No on-call requirements
- No floating requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for Missouri licensure or currently licensed in Missouri
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification from AHA required
- TNCC and NIHSS certification required (may start without NIHSS if obtained prior to start)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Tele, Stepdown, or ED (Level 3, Level 4, or critical access)
- Trauma or high-acuity experience preferred
- Black scrub color required; jeans and unprofessional attire not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for all age groups
- Coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize care and comfort
- Maintain patient rights and confidentiality in accordance with facility standards
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required for all travelers from November 1 to April 1; declinations not accepted
- RTO must be made up during the assignment and cannot be requested during the first week
- Only 1 holiday RTO request allowed per assignment
- Physical demands include standing, walking, pushing/pulling patients, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local and subject to a reduced bill rate
- Local candidates limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts before requiring a 1-year break or transfer to a facility outside the radius
