Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2+ years of critical care/PreOp experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Post Surgical PACU unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes general, ortho, urology, ENT, cath lab, ENDO, GYN, and PEDS cases
• No neuro or cardio patients
• Full time schedule of 5 days, 8 hours per day
• 4x10 schedule can be accommodated
• Day shift from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Requirements

• Active RN license in TX or compact required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required
• Critical Care, PreOp, and EPIC experience required
• BSN preferred
• Perioperative RN Residency or recent OR/Perioperative experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide independent nursing care including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
• Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
• Assess and address learning needs of patients and families, providing appropriate education
• Delegate and coordinate care with other providers as needed
• New hires attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days and complete department-specific competency validations
• Temp to perm possibility exists for this position
• Candidates previously employed at any CHRISTUS facility must be separated for at least 6 months before starting a new travel assignment
