Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Oncology RN for a 7P-7A travel assignment requiring MO or compact RN licensure and 1 year of recent specialty experience.

Details

• Work on a 36-bed 6th Floor Med-Surg/Oncology unit
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population includes Med-Surg, oncology, and hospice patients, as well as hemodynamically stable patients requiring cardiac monitoring with no interventions
• Unit staffed with Clinical Care Coordinators, RNs, LPNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretaries
• Uses I-med, I-mobile, Neurons vitals machines, glucometers, PCA, wound vac, chest tubes, and surgical drains
• Documentation completed in Meditech
• Overnight shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Scheduled to work every third weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to Med-Surg and Telemetry units for Med-Surg level patients

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy/ONC certification required for all RNs working in Oncology
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Med/Surg Oncology required
• Experience with wound vac changes, drain removal, IV/PICC line care, foley insertion/removal, and NG tube insertion/removal
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri assignments
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Perform daily Med-Surg/Oncology nursing duties including wound care, line management, and monitoring of hemodynamically stable cardiac patients
• Team-oriented, positive attitude, and patient-centered approach preferred
• Required uniform: Pewter (gray) scrubs for nurses, Caribbean Blue for PCTs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
• Certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of assignment start
