Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a high acuity Stepdown Unit position requiring active NJ or compact license and prior ICU experience.

Details

• Work in a high acuity Stepdown Unit (SDU)
• PM shift schedule, 7p-7a
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Floating to a sister hospital nearby as needed
• On-call responsibilities required
• Uses EPIC charting system

Requirements

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred
• Experience with preoperative and postoperative patient assessment
• Strong patient education and documentation skills

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent clinical care and support emergency procedures and equipment use
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Uphold professional standards, confidentiality, and HIPAA compliance
• Promote patient and family-centered care with a collaborative team approach
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals, including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
• Support timely completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) and evaluate orders for appropriateness
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
