Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Progressive Care Unit role requiring a KY or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certification, with no prior experience required.

Details

• 32-bed progressive care unit with semi-private rooms
• Nurse to patient ratio of 4-5:1
• All patients on continuous telemetry heart monitoring
• Mixed-acuity population including medical-surgical transfers and ICU step-down patients
• Care includes cardiac drip titration, continuous BiPAP monitoring, and other higher-acuity interventions
• Unit does not care for acute stroke patients
• 3x12 schedule, 7p-7a shifts
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous experience preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination throughout admission, transfer, and discharge
• Facilitate patient and family education and support discharge planning in collaboration with case management
• Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as monitoring falls, pressure ulcers, and CAUTIs
• Promote a positive, healing environment through collaborative teamwork and communication
