Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a Cardiac Interventional Radiology role requiring 2+ years of experience and prior travel assignment experience.
Details
- Work in a hybrid operating room performing peripheral vascular and other endovascular procedures
- Patient population includes endovascular and open vascular cases such as EVAR, TEVAR, declot, and TCAR
- Patient ratio of 1:1
- Shift options include 3x12 hour days (6:30 AM-7:00 PM) or 4x10 hour days (6:30 AM-5:00 PM)
- Call required once a week and every fourth weekend
- 13 week contract
- Uses Epic, PACS, SBAR, and Pyxis systems
- May be assigned to Storm Team or Hurricane Team and required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters
- Possible mid-contract reassignment to centralized office or other units as needed
Requirements
- ARRT-R required, ARRT-VI preferred
- BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Prior travel assignment experience required
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skilled in angioplasty, aortography, embolization, endograft placement, IVC filter placement/removal, mesenteric angiogram, and vascular studies
- Experience with EVAR, TEVAR, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- Proficient in equipment setup, prepping access sites, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
- Familiarity with vascular closure systems such as Perclose and StarClose
- Experience with fluoroscopy and ultrasound equipment, including Siemens systems
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, maintaining sterile technique, stocking supplies, and equipment maintenance
- 36 hours of orientation based on experience
- Scrubs provided
- Pre-start modules required (8-10 hours for acute care roles), completed online via Chrome or Edge, with annual renewal
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- RTO up to 7 days auto-approved if not falling on a holiday; no RTO allowed during first week; additional RTO requires facility approval and cannot be requested after signing
- Former Novant Health/New Hanover PERM, PRN, or EP employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with facility approval required
- Current travel per diem clinicians must choose between travel or per diem status, not both
- Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower rate
- Travel pairs allowed if assigned to different units and disclosed at submission
- Candidates with NC or Compact license pending are eligible for consideration
