Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit position requiring Epic EMR experience and advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills.

Details

• Progressive Critical Care Unit setting caring for medically delicate and surgically complex patients
• Patient population includes respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex trauma, and surgical complications
• Average patient load of 3 high acuity patients
• Utilizes advanced hemodynamic monitoring including pressor titration protocols, antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, a-line, CVP, and EVD
• Manages ortho traction and infection prevention protocols
• Uses HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent equipment
• Epic EMR experience required
• Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications required from AHA or RQI
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in progressive/critical care specialty
• Experience with adult PCU and community hospital ICU settings preferred
• Competent in medical and surgical patient populations
• Competency test required within 24 hours of consideration, sent via email
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted
• Medical exemption required for flu vaccine if not vaccinated; personal or religious declinations not accepted
• Minimum 1 reference within the past year from a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide advanced critical care nursing to medically and surgically complex patients
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible
