Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Medical ICU RN with 2+ years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency for a hospital assignment in Ohio.

Details

• Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital setting
• Patient ratios of approximately 1:1-2
• 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week, rotating day and night shifts every 4 weeks
• Cares for patients with multisystem organ failure, respiratory failure, COVID, sepsis, post-cardiac arrest, DKA, liver failure, and renal failure
• Performs continuous glucose monitoring for hyperglycemia and manages externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients
• Utilizes NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV pumps, GE cardiac monitors, GE ventilators, and in-room boom lifts
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA certifications only)
• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience required
• Proficient in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Epic charting experience required
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Manage care for critically ill patients with complex multisystem conditions
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignments after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel assignments at this facility
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
• Previous travel nursing experience is preferred but not required
