Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I trauma facility, requiring prior travel experience in a similar setting and a minimum of 2 years OR experience.

Details

• Work in a 17-bed OR unit (inpatient and outpatient) plus 5 procedural rooms within a Level I trauma facility
• Adult patient population only; no pediatric cases (Children's Hospital OR is a separate unit)
• Handles all case types including neuro, trauma, general, ortho, GYN, urology, ENT, plastics, cardiothoracic, vascular, transplant (liver, renal, pancreas), robotic, hybrid rooms (cysto, bronch, lead extraction), ambulatory ortho, burn, and hepatic-biliary
• Patient diagnoses include open heart, transplant, and trauma/neuro cases
• 12-hour night shift schedule, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Schedule may include Saturday/Sunday shifts; weekday days will vary based on unit needs with no guaranteed block schedule
• May float between OR rooms but not between facility locations
• No on-call requirements
• May be required to take up to four late stays during the contract when case volume runs longer than scheduled

Requirements

• Active RN license (TN or Compact) required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 2 years of OR experience required
• Prior travel experience in a similar Level I trauma facility required
• Experience in general surgeries preferred
• Complete COVID-19 vaccine series or valid exemption required by start date with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties in a high-acuity trauma setting
• Limited time off approved during the contract, with a maximum of 5-7 days permitted
• Expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays during the assignment
• Accepts local candidates, though a 75-mile radius rule applies for eligibility for the travel rate
• Only accepting candidates for the full 26-week assignment; shorter durations will not be considered
