Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level 3 Trauma facility, requiring WI or compact RN licensure and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• 12-bed Critical Care ICU unit within a 60-bed Level 3 Trauma facility
• Patient population includes general ICU, stroke, sepsis, pneumonia, post-surgical, and CRRT cases (no ECMO)
• Patient ratios of 1:2, up to 1:3 for stepdown-level patients
• 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every third weekend, with possible pull-off to support weekday staffing needs
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• No on-call responsibilities
• May float to areas with ICU patients, including a holding area or Kenosha, but only to ICU settings
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Experience with general ICU skills including art lines, cardiac and other critical drips, vents, bipaps, trachs, and codes required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name/initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a diverse ICU patient population requiring advanced monitoring and intervention
• Support team includes 1-2 CNAs, charge nurse with reduced patient assignment, phlebotomy, IV/VAT team, RT, hospitalist coverage 24/7, and onsite intensivist coverage 0700-1900 daily with EICU support 24/7
• Orientation includes NEO and two 12-hour shifts of unit orientation
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking available on site
• No radius restrictions; local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Up to 2 shifts of time off can be approved within the contract; additional requests require manager approval
• First-time travelers considered for day shift; night shift prefers travel experience but will consider candidates with several years of experience
• Former employees of the health system or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignments
• COVID vaccination required
