Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least 2 years of specialty experience and AWHONN certification.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a short-term acute care hospital
• Follows AWHONN patient ratios
• Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required for low census situations only
• Floating between units based on unit needs, with potential floating to sister facilities nearby
• Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

• Active OR RN license and Compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current BLS and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate certification required
• AWHONN Advanced and STABLE certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery specialty required
• Skilled in postpartum care, cesarean section and vaginal delivery care, labor and delivery management, and circulating for C-sections
• Experience performing sterile vaginal exams and triaging obstetrical patients
• Experience with fetal monitoring, recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns, spiral electrode placement, and external fetal monitoring
• Level I Nursery and LDRP work setting experience preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years, which may include Charge RNs or Leads
• Must provide SSN and DOB for compliance

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum management
• Scrubs provided for select departments; any color scrub accepted for RN/Allied staff
• No parking fee at this facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; minimal flexibility for post-submittal scheduling changes
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travelers and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify for standard travel rate
