Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring WI or compact RN licensure and at least 18 months of ED experience.

Details

• Emergency Department with 17 exam rooms and a 4-bed observation unit in a 60-bed Level III/IV Trauma, stroke-ready facility
• Patient population includes post-surgical, CVA, sepsis, pneumonia, trauma, MI, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• 12-hour night shift schedule (1900-0730), 36 hours per week
• Weekend rotation every other weekend
• Holiday rotation required every other holiday
• No floating required
• No on-call or call-back requirements
• Unit supported by ED techs, LPNs, charge nurse (may carry patient load), phlebotomy, VAT/US-guided IV trained RNs, respiratory therapy, 24/7 hospitalist coverage, and OT/PT/ST services
• Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing system

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Minimum 18 months of ED experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC
• Skilled in airway management, RSI, cardiac drip administration, code response, and CVA/STEMI management
• Epic EMR experience required
• Candidate's middle name or initial, DOB, and last 4 of SSN required for consideration
• Minimum of one professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

• Provide direct emergency care across a wide range of acute and emergent patient conditions
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation (NEO) and two 12-hour shifts on the unit
• COVID vaccination required
• Navy blue scrubs required

• First-time travelers are not considered for this position
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions
• Former employees of Advocate Health or its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before becoming eligible for travel assignment
