Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Post Acute Long Term Care night shift position requiring a Maine or compact RN license and prior LTC/SNF experience.

• Long-term care and skilled nursing facility setting across multiple units
• 3 East is a 31-bed unit specializing in Alzheimer's/dementia care with a focus on verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit is a 42-bed short-term skilled nursing and rehab unit serving patients recovering from fractures, joint replacements, back surgery, stroke, and other short-term conditions
• Transitional Rehabilitation Unit services often include IV therapy, wound care, and geriatric assessment and management
• 3 West is a 42-bed long-term care unit providing home-like care for residents needing long-term placement
• Night shift schedule, 7p-7:30a
• Flexibility required to help provide coverage 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
• Floating to other units required as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (Maine or Compact)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required, with 1-3 years of RN experience preferred
• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Medical terminology knowledge preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required

Additional Information

• Partner with residents and other care providers to create a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment through direct and indirect care
• Provide care tailored to residents with Alzheimer's/dementia, recognizing behaviors as valid forms of communication
• Support patients recovering from short-term illnesses or injuries through skilled nursing and rehabilitative care
• Work collaboratively within a team of care providers to ensure continuity of care
• Previous employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Candidates with licensure hits will not be considered for this role
