Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring progressive ICU experience and NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit
• ICU patient ratio of 1:2 (IMC 1:4)
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 36 or 48 hour options available
• Weekend shifts required
• Floating required to like units within scope, with brief orientation provided
• Epic charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CPI, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications preferred
• 2 years of ICU experience preferred, ideally in a progressive ICU setting
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• LTAC and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial and central line management, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Experience managing CVVHD/CRRT and acute/chronic renal failure patients
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and administering continuous IV sedation
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management and hypothermia protocols (Arctic Sun)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring and TAVR experience preferred
• NexGen CRRT and Breast Reconstruction Post Op experience preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to complex ICU patients including those with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• First-time travelers are accepted for this unit
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
