Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 2 years of ER experience and prior charge experience.

Details

• 13-week assignment in the Emergency Department of a community hospital
• Level II Trauma Center with Pediatric Emergency Department, STEMI, and Stroke Certified capabilities
• Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30, with 36 or 48 hour options
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CPI, NIHSS, NRP/ENPC, STABLE, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred
• Previous charge experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ABGs
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience managing neurological and trauma cases including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury
• Experience with pediatric emergencies including head injury and near drowning
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• OB emergency delivery and neonatal emergency skills preferred

Additional Information

• Provide emergency nursing care across a range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
• First-time travelers considered only if candidate has 2-3 years of experience in a Progressive or Acute ER setting
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel position
• Former staff members must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
