Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an IN or compact RN license and 18 months of recent Cath Lab experience.
Details
- Hospital-based Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting
- Also covers Interventional Radiology and Pre/Post Procedure areas
- Performs cardiac cath lab procedures including left and right heart catheterization, PCI, and TAVR
- Performs EP procedures including cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, cardioversion, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, and pacemaker insertion
- Cerner charting system preferred
- Day shift, 4x10 hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 6:30am-5:00pm
- On-call requirement of roughly one evening per week and every 4th weekend with a 30-minute response time
- Floating required to other departments within the hospital or nearby affiliate hospitals
Requirements
- Active IN or compact RN license required in hand prior to start
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 18 months of recent Cath Lab experience required
- Skills required include IV therapy, central line insertion/management, implanted port care, and vascular studies/procedures
- Circulating and scrubbing procedure experience required
- Procedural sedation administration/monitoring experience required
- Nursing degree from a university accredited by ACEN or CCNE at time of graduation
- 2 supervisor references required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include assisting with and performing complex cardiac and EP procedures, medication administration, and patient monitoring during procedures
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; additional RTO requires facility approval
- Local candidates residing within Indiana are accepted; local rate applies for eligible local travelers
- Any current or former IU Health perm/PRN employee must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
- Travelers with 12 months of accrued travel employment within IU Health must take a designated break to reset eligibility (3 months for out-of-state residents, 6 months for in-state residents)
