Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN for a night shift assignment requiring trauma, neuro, vascular, and ortho surgical experience at a Level I Trauma acute care hospital.

Details

• Acute care hospital with 277 staffed beds
• Operating Room unit supporting Level I Trauma cases
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15) with variable start times of 7:00 or 9:00
• Weekend shifts required
• On-call required, distributed equally among nursing staff every 6 weeks (up to 6-8 shifts per 6-week period, including nights, evenings, and weekends)
• May need to cover one additional night shift within the contract as needed
• Floating required between like units and potentially sister facilities within the state
• Uses Epic for charting
• OR, Endo, L&D, and PACU scrubs provided
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of OR experience required, 5 years preferred
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience in trauma, neuro, vascular, and orthopedic surgical procedures required
• Experience with a broad range of surgical specialties including general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT, plastics, bariatrics, thoracic, and robotics preferred
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Response required regarding any prior work history with a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem)

Additional Information

• Provide perioperative nursing care across a wide range of surgical specialties including trauma, vascular, neuro, ortho, general surgery, gynecology, urology, ENT, plastics, and robotics
• Facility utilizes advanced surgical equipment including Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, cell saver, Hana Table, and electrosurgical units
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-submission RTO requests may not be accommodated
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius, though at a lower bill rate
• Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility
• First-time travel nurses are not being considered for this role due to travel experience requirement
