Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I trauma center requiring ACLS, PALS, and MO or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Level I trauma, Stroke, and STEMI-certified ED with an integrated Pediatric ED
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45-07:15)
- Patient ratios typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5
- Every other weekend and 50% of holidays required
- Floating required between ED and ED Observation units
- Cerner charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active MO or Compact RN license required in hand
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- CPI certification preferred (required for Behavioral Health RNs)
- ATCN and TNCC certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Level II Trauma experience required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted if they have Level I trauma experience
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, weekends, and during inclement weather
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care in a high-acuity Level I trauma setting treating adult and pediatric patients
- Skilled care may include IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and IV vasopressors preferred
- Familiarity with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and triage required
- Ortho trauma and neuro-trauma experience preferred
- Psych center is associated with the ED but travelers will not float there
- Position located in a 24/7 healthcare facility with routine exposure to contagious illnesses
- Locals residing within 50 miles are not eligible; those 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
- Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none allowed during the first week due to orientation
- Re-orientation not required for returning travelers within 18 months
