Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Cath Lab position requiring cath lab experience and on-call availability with weekend rotations.

Details

• Work in a Cardiac Cath Lab, with potential Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Hybrid OR involvement
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, primarily starting at 0700 with one late start day per week at 0800
• On-call requirement of 1 night per week plus every 4th weekend rotation
• Participates in late shift and on-call mandate rotation, including holiday on-call as needed by the department
• May float to Interventional Radiology when Cath Lab case load is low
• Works as part of a care team, ideally 4 persons per room but must be able to function independently with 3
• Utilizes Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license, must be active by start date
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab experience required, with prior travel experience in cath lab for candidates with only 1 year of experience
• First-time travelers require a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience
• Community hospital and Trauma Level II experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Proficiency across a range of cath lab and EP procedures and skills, including ACT monitoring, cardioversion, sheath removal, vascular closure devices, procedural sedation monitoring, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures such as diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement, and pacemaker/defibrillator management

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and EP procedures
• Assist with special procedures including TAVR, Watchman, LAA closure, and ventricular assist device insertion
• Scrubs provided in blue
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted, with holiday RTO requests requiring willingness to work one of three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least three years before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers will be considered with sufficient Cath Lab experience
