Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 3+ years of outpatient or acute echo experience for a Level 3 Trauma center's Echocardiography department.
Details
- Echocardiography department with 10 echo suites
- Average census of 35 outpatients plus 35-70 inpatients daily
- Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases on nights or weekends
- Common diagnoses include CHF, SOB, pericardial effusion, PE, pre/post TAVR and valve procedures, pre/post CABG, and dysrhythmias/arrhythmias
- EMR is Epic, PACS is Philips ISCV
- Unit equipment includes Philips Epiq CVX
- 8hr day shift, 0700-1530, 40 hours per week
- Set schedule with 1 scheduled weekend per month (weekend shifts 0600-1430)
- On-call requirement of 3 nights per month, any night of the week, with 1-hour response time
- Call-back is only initiated through cardiology
- May float within the hospital for bedside scans
Requirements
- BLS required
- ARDMS-RDCS or CCI-RCIS certification accepted
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 3 years of outpatient or acute echo experience
- Experience with 3D and strain imaging, basic echo protocol, bubble studies, Definity contrast, and doppler/color flow imaging
- Epic EMR experience
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full DOB required for consideration
- Minimum 1 professional reference dated within one year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
Additional Information
- Perform echocardiograms including 3D/strain imaging, bubble studies, and Definity contrast studies
- May assist with stress echoes; TEEs are not required
- Support team includes a supervisor/manager, other echo techs, up to 5 RNs, transporter, scheduler, RT, hospitalist, intensivist, and rapid response/code team available 24/7
- Orientation includes NEO plus 2-3 shifts of departmental orientation
- Scrub requirement is galaxy blue top with black bottoms
- No holiday coverage required at this time
- RTO requests go through the manager
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
