Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Long-Term Care position requiring an active AK RN license and geriatric/dementia care experience.

Details

  • Long-term care setting providing nursing care to patients with acute, chronic, and post-operative conditions across the lifespan
  • 13-week assignment consisting of three 12-hour shifts per week
  • Must be flexible to work day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
  • On-call may be required
  • Floating to other departments or assignments as needed
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical systems required

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted AK RN license required at time of submittal
  • Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • Geriatric and dementia care experience preferred
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, stooping, and kneeling
  • Ability to work in a moderate-to-high noise clinical environment

Additional Information

  • Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care
  • Administers medications and treatments safely per provider orders and policy
  • Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care
  • Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs
  • Collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and facilitate referrals
  • Documents assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record
  • Provides guidance and delegation to ancillary staff and supports orientation and mentoring of peers
  • Candidates must live at least 100+ miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
