Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced NICU/PICU Transport RN with flight or mobile transfer experience to provide critical care transport for neonatal and pediatric patients.
Details
- NICU Transport unit providing critical care transport for neonatal and pediatric patients
- Transport team consists of one RN and one RT per shift, guided by a physician
- Transports patients from outside facilities throughout Oregon and SW Washington via ground, air, or rotor transport
- Primarily transports patients back to the main facility, with additional contracted transports for partner health systems
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
- Minimum of every 3rd weekend required, with occasional extra weekend shifts as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active OR RN license and WA/Compact RN license required prior to starting
- Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum 3 years of experience required, with recent experience as a fully oriented neo/peds transport RN with strong NICU/PICU skills
- Flight and/or mobile transfer experience required for consideration
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong respiratory skills required including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
- Skilled in management of pediatric emergency medications, IV therapy, arterial and central line care
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and management of dysrhythmias preferred
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- One professional reference required from a Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or Manager, preferably within the last year
- Active Oregon state license or proof of Oregon license application and fingerprinting required for consideration
- No felony convictions accepted
Additional Information
- Provide critical care transport nursing for neonatal and pediatric patients between facilities
- Flight training provided as part of orientation through a contracted vendor
- Scrubs provided for pediatric transport role, any color accepted except black and camo
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
- Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with none allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- Former staff must be separated from the facility/system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are not accepted and candidates may not reside within 50 miles of the facility
- Candidates must complete an Epic Test-Out Module, with additional training assigned if not passed
