Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level II Trauma Center offering night shifts, requiring CA RN license and prior travel experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric populations
• STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required, with Sunday not counted as a weekend day
• Possible floating required based on facility needs
• Meditech charting system experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and CPI or MAB
• TNCC certification preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics/sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
• Experience managing neuro-trauma, CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Experience with chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, and ventilated patients
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including psychiatric holds and suicidal patients
• Skilled in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
• Experience treating gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Ortho-trauma experience including splint application and management

Additional Information

• Care for a wide range of emergency presentations including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, sickle cell crisis, and infections
• Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to consideration
• Holiday time off and excessive time off requests are unlikely to be approved
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Travel pairs and 48-hour contracts are not accepted
• Blocked schedules are not accepted
