Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg-Tele RN for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and EPIC proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg-Tele unit with a primarily Med/Surg patient population on a telemetry-capable floor
• Patient population includes observation, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes, and surgical/surgical observation patients
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-7:30a
• Every other weekend required, holidays as needed
• Floating required across all facility campuses as needed
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass an EKG competency exam during onboarding (2 attempts allowed)
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Skills in respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, oral suctioning), IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care/wound vac, and renal/dialysis management preferred

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
