Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring proficiency with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips.
Details
- 42-bed Med-Surg Telemetry unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:6
- Patient population includes cardiac, diabetes, CHF, COPD, renal, general surgery, and orthopedic cases
- May take IMCU patients if needed based on census
- Weekends and holidays included in schedule
- No call requirements
- Floating required to units of like or lesser acuity
- Works alongside RNs, LPNs, PCTs, CNA/US, and unit secretaries
- Meditech charting system preferred
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and CPI
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Proficient with insulin, heparin, and Lasix drips
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips required
- Experience with heparin protocols required
Additional Information
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius to be considered for this position
- Candidates will be reviewed and interviewed by the unit manager
- RTO must be disclosed at time of submission, with a maximum of 5 days subject to manager approval
- Candidate profile must indicate if applicant is a former UNC Health employee
