Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring ACLS certification and weekend on-call availability.

Details

  • Surgical Services department specializing in GI/Endoscopy procedures
  • Day shift schedule, 5 days per week, 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
  • On-call requirement of 2 weekend call shifts per month and 1 call night per week
  • Floating to other departments within Surgical Services required
  • Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license in New Mexico or compact license required
  • Current BLS certification via AHA required
  • Current ACLS certification via AHA required
  • BSN preferred
  • 1 year of experience in GI/Endoscopy nursing specialty preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
  • Administer medications and treatments while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness per protocol
  • Document patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers
  • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local candidate consideration
  • Previous CHRISTUS employees must be separated for at least 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
