Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Level III NICU position requiring 1:1 patient ratios and at least 3 years of recent Level III NICU experience.
Details
- Level III, 54-bed NICU serving as a regional referral center for high-risk infants at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Patient population primarily consists of very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours (7:00-19:30)
- Required to work 2 weekend shifts per month on a variable, as-needed basis with flexibility for occasional additional shifts
- Floating within the hospital to Mother Baby unit to care for infants only
- No on-call requirements
- Uses Epic charting system
- Care includes high-risk deliveries, ventilator management, therapeutic hypothermia, UAC/UVC lines, and neonatal abstinence syndrome care
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required
- BLS and NRP certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience as permanent NICU staff required
- At least 3 years of recent Level III NICU experience required due to high-acuity unit skillset
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Skills in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, and administration of blood products required
- Experience with neonatal dosage calculations and emergency medications required
- Experience with UAC and UVC lines required
Additional Information
- Provide direct bedside care to critically ill neonates, including very low birth weight premature infants requiring ventilatory support
- Located in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art unit
- Scrubs of any color permitted
- RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Prior UW staff must have a minimum 18-month separation from the facility before returning as a travel candidate
- Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
