Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with neurology patient care experience for a night shift assignment requiring proficiency with the NIH Stroke Scale.
Details
- Work in the Telemetry unit of a short term acute care hospital, a Level II Trauma and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center
- Care for a neurology patient population including CVA, craniotomy, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:00
- Floating between units required
- Weekend rotation required every other weekend
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Neurology patient care experience required with proficiency in the NIH Stroke Scale
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Epic EMR charting experience required
- Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management preferred
- Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring preferred
- Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown level nursing care including cardiac monitoring and neurological assessments
- Located within a teaching hospital environment
- Any scrub color accepted for RNs
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities near the contracted location
- Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
- Former permanent staff may return as travelers after a 3 month waiting period, provided they reside outside a 50 mile radius
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Only one submission allowed system-wide to Providence facilities at a time
