Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring 1 year of experience and a TX or compact RN license in hand.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit within a short term acute care hospital with 379 staffed beds
- Level II Trauma Center
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6 week period
- Floating between units and sister facilities required
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active TX or compact RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience required
- Level II Trauma experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills in GI care, respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, tracheostomy care), IV therapy/phlebotomy, wound care, and cardiac monitoring
- Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams
- Post-op and ortho trauma experience preferred
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care to Med/Surg patients including bariatric, GI, respiratory, ortho, and post-surgical cases
- Dress code requires solid navy blue colored uniforms or scrubs for licensed nursing personnel
- Free parking available in designated surface lots
- Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer as post-offer requests may not be granted
- Candidates must reside within a 50 mile radius of the facility to be eligible for local rate consideration
- Former permanent employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside more than 50 miles from the facility
