Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with prior travel and PACU experience for a role circulating across multiple surgical specialties.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a hospital environment
• Circulates for general surgery, orthopedic, OB, ENT, and podiatry cases
• Rotating pain management and weekend call required
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (7:00 AM - 3:00 PM)

Requirements

• Active TX or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience preferred
• PACU/recovery experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in circulating for gynecological, general, orthopedic, podiatry, and ENT procedures
• Experience with blood/blood product administration, infection control, laser and radiation safety, specimen handling, universal protocol, and wound management
• Familiarity with cell saver equipment and emergency/fire safety protocols
• Epic charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for circulating a wide range of surgical cases including gynecologic, orthopedic, podiatric, general, and ENT procedures
• Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
• Not accepting candidates residing in specific nearby Texas counties (Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris)
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
• Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
