Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN-Telemetry with CA licensure and at least 1 year of acute care telemetry experience for a night shift assignment.
Details
- Telemetry unit setting caring for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30
- Weekend coverage required
- Floating required
- Epic EMR experience required and must be noted in work history
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required in-hand when applying (EMSA not accepted)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required in-hand when applying
- CPI Blue Card from Crisis Prevention Institute required for ER and Float Pool nurses (Online or MAB certification not accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
- Minimum 1 year of full-time equivalent experience in telemetry specialty within the past two years
- Two supervisor references required, with at least one from the specific unit within the last year
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained
Additional Information
- Care involves cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
- Skills may include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, chest tube care, and wound care
- May involve care of patients with CVA, TBI, seizure disorders, or substance withdrawal
- Holiday and weekend coverage expected as part of scheduling
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previously employed staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler
- No RTO permitted within the first two weeks of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract is highly preferred
- All RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application and cannot be changed once submitted for manager review
