Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of experience and a KS or compact RN license.
Details
- Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- 4 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
- Floating required to like units within scope as needed
- Epic charting experience preferred
Requirements
- Active KS or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required in hand
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central/peripheral line management
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
- Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams
Additional Information
- Care for a diverse Med/Surg patient population including neurological, orthopedic, and post-surgical cases
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
- Former staff must be separated from permanent employment for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Brief onsite orientation provided for floating assignments
