Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Telemetry unit position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and telemetry rhythm proficiency.

Details

• Work on a Medical-Surgical Intermediate/Stepdown unit (7th Floor)
• True cardiac floor requiring proficiency in reading and reacting to cardiac rhythms
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM-7:30 PM)
• Every other weekend required
• Exposure to a variety of cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Lasix
• Cares for renal patients receiving hemodialysis via beds equipped for HD (performed by outside company)
• Manages all modes of oxygenation other than ventilators
• Required to float based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active IN or compact RN license required (may be pending at submission but must be active prior to start)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of experience required, 2 years preferred
• Telemetry and cardiac/stroke experience required
• Cardiac drip experience required, including titration or management experience
• Must pass a telemetry rhythm identification quiz
• Cerner charting experience preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Performs EKG testing as part of routine duties
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for three years before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
