Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) for a night shift position requiring at least 1 year of experience and AHA ACLS/PALS certification.
Details
- Respiratory Therapy/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
- No on-call requirements
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
- Works with adult critical care and emergency department patients
- Manages ventilators including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Performs chest physiotherapy, arterial blood gas draws and interpretation, and nebulizer treatments
- Cares for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience required
- RRT preferred, CRT considered
- AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required (AHA certification is the only accepted form)
- License required if applicable
- Experience with oxygen therapy, ET tubes, high flow nasal cannula, and trach collar
- Experience with medication administration including Albuterol, Atrovent, and inhaled steroids
- Skill in arterial punctures and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Must complete Relias EKG testing within 72 hours of signing
- Facial hair must be trimmed or removed to meet CDC fit testing guidelines
- Must complete drug testing within 12-14 calendar days prior to start
Additional Information
- General orientation begins on Mondays with online computer-based learning modules
- Non-billable orientation modules average 4-5 hours and are completed via electronic transcripts
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Only one submission allowed per candidate within the health system
- Candidates must live 100 miles or more from the facility, and local candidates are not accepted
