Description
American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT/RRT) for a night shift position requiring 2+ years of Adult Critical Care experience and Trauma Level I experience.
Details
- Adult critical care and neuro diagnostics respiratory therapy unit
- Adult and geriatric patient population
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Every other weekend required
- Floating to other units or campuses as needed, within qualified competencies
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active RRT license required in SC (License required if applicable)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- Trauma Level I experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Proficient in adult critical care work settings including extubation, airway placement, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
- Experienced in administering respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, Lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, Terbutaline Sulfate, Tobramycin, and Xopenex
- Experience delivering medications via aerosol mask/trach setups, Medihaler, and MDI
- Experience with hand held, T-piece, and trach collar nebulizers
- Experience with high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, ventilator weaning, and troubleshooting high pressure alarms
- Ability to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
Additional Information
- Provide respiratory and neuro diagnostic care to adult and geriatric patients
- Perform pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and tracheostomy care/management
- Work within a critical care team supporting mechanical ventilation and airway management
- Facility may call off up to 1 shift per 2 weeks
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted subject to radius rule criteria
