Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring 3+ years of ER experience and NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital with 733 staffed beds
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• Float to all Harnett Health locations as needed, including between both campuses
• No on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active NC state or Compact RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Minimum 3 years of ER experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• Epic charting experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line care/management, starting and maintaining IVs, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, emergency medication administration, and care of psychiatric, overdose, and suicidal patients
• Arterial line management and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure preferred
• No background or license actions within the past 12 months
• SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Must pass Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a combined adult and pediatric ED setting
• Charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of Cape Fear Valley Medical Center are not eligible
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 4 days RTO permitted, with additional RTO subject to manager discretion
• Only one major holiday may be requested off
• Scrub color is royal blue and white
• Extension policy allows one extension on day shift or two on night shift, up to a maximum of two or three total contracts respectively, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
• Compliance modules must be completed prior to start, estimated at 4-10 hours
