Description

American Traveler is hiring a Nurse Navigator/Charge RN for a high-volume Emergency Department requiring TNCC and trauma-level experience.

Details

• Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center Emergency Department setting with 48 headwalls and approximately 25 additional treatment spaces
• Unit staffed with Charge Nurse, Flow Navigator, RN, Paramedic, ED Tech, and Unit Clerk on both day and night shifts
• Acuity-based patient ratios
• Uses Emergency/Trauma/Critical Care equipment including GE, Stryker, and Plum 360
• Meditech EMR
• Day shift schedule from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license, TX or compact
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, BLS, CPI
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience required
• Strong clinical and rapid patient assessment skills
• Ability to recognize changes in patient condition and apply critical thinking
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Trauma experience in a Level 1 or 2 Trauma Center preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a high-volume ED preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Performs procedures including moderate sedation, RSI, CPR, PIV/IO, splinting, EKG, blood transfusion, and TNK administration
• Provides cardiac monitoring, stroke assessment, trauma assessment, resuscitation, and sepsis workups
• Team-oriented environment where all staff assist one another
• Shift begins 15 minutes prior to start time for huddle and patient care handoff
• No food, drink, or personal bags permitted in patient care areas
• Must clock out for a full 30-34 minute lunch each shift
• Navy scrub color required
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
