Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) night shift position requiring NV licensure and prior travel experience.
Details
- Work in an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/Stepdown) at a Level II Trauma Center
- Care for adult and geriatric patients with post ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory conditions requiring moderately complex assessments and interventions
- 3x12 night shift schedule with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required to other units up to competency level based on organizational needs
- Uses Epic charting system
Requirements
- Active NV RN license required prior to start
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Medical/Neuro ICU experience preferred
- Experience required with vasopressors, titratable drips, art lines, neuro-stepdown patients, procedural sedation, thrombolytics, and trach management
- Must pass an ECG/Telemetry exam including rhythm strip interpretation; failure results in contract termination
- Minimum of one prior 13-week travel assignment required within the past year
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
- Coordinate care with other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary, patient-centered team
- Level II Trauma Center serving a 500-mile radius with high patient volume and fast-paced environment
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Eve + Day counts as 1 holiday)
- Required to pick up one additional shift during each 4-week schedule period
- Schedule may include weekends and holidays based on department needs
- Facility may cancel up to 48 hours per 13-week contract for low census, without penalty
- No blocked scheduling allowed; all assignments are for 13 weeks
- RTO must be submitted with the application and will not be added to the end of the contract
- Candidates must reside outside a 60-mile radius; local candidates are not accepted
- A 13-week break is required for returning travelers after ending a previous contract
