Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/IR RN for a 13-week acute care assignment requiring 3+ years of cardiac cath/IR experience and an active NE or compact RN license.
Details
- Cardiac Cath Lab / Interventional Radiology unit within a Level 2 trauma acute care hospital
- 3 procedure suites/labs averaging 4-5 cases per day
- Common diagnoses include compression fractures, venous access, hydronephrosis, chest pain, PHTN, SOB, gastric ulcer, PE, and DVT
- Responsibilities include intra-procedural circulating, supply and medication administration, and sedation
- Uses EPIC and Apollo cardiac charting systems
- 8-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, plus call requirements
- Minimum 10 weeknight call shifts and 2 weekend call shifts (1 IR and 1 Cardiac) per contract
- Holiday call required
- On-call response time is 30 minutes for IMC, ASAP for LKS/MCB/Bergan
- Daily floating required, as well as floating for on-call as needed
- Support staff includes 3 Cath Lab Techs and a Supervisor on each shift
- Very versatile lab primarily performing IR with cardiac inpatient add-ons, including STEMI stabilization up to IABP
Requirements
- Active NE state or Compact (NLC) RN license required, pending licenses not accepted
- Minimum 3 years of hospital-based Cardiac Cath/IR experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (active, pending not accepted)
- Driver's license copy required at submission for radius verification
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and rehire eligibility
- Must pass a pass/fail, open-book skills exam during orientation with a minimum score of 90%
- Artificial nails are prohibited for all patient care staff
Additional Information
- 1 week of unit-specific orientation, including an on-call buddy shift
- Surgical greens required for scrub/dress code
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, verified via driver's license
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) with any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the past year
- Facility can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for assignments shorter than 13 weeks)
- Radiation badges provided by the facility
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be requested upfront per 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved after submission
