Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a float pool ICU position requiring CA RN licensure, BSN, and a minimum of 4 years of recent ICU experience at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Float pool position covering ICUs, TCUs, ED, and PACU across UCSF facilities
• Rotating 12-hour Day (7:00-19:30) and Night (19:00-7:30) shifts on 3x12 schedules
• Schedule may alternate between day and night shifts each 4-week cycle depending on facility needs
• Float pool RN role, not unit-based
• Requires ability to float to other UCSF facilities and departments as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating may occur to facilities within a 75+ mile radius

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Minimum 4 years of recent ICU experience required, within the last 6 months to 1 year
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Completed travel assignment within the past 12 months required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with care of ventilated patients, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and titration of vasoactive drips
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties including CVICU, MICU, SICU, and Transplant ICU
• Work in a teaching hospital environment with exposure to complex, high-acuity patients
• All RTO must be disclosed and approved at time of offer; no additional RTO requests accepted mid-contract
• RTO may not be scheduled within the first two weeks of the assignment start date
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work the same unit
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed for rehire eligibility review
