Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine proficiency at a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a Level I Trauma teaching hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• 13-week assignment with day (0700-1930) or night (1900-0730) 3x12 hour shifts
• Every other weekend required with some holidays and no on-call responsibilities
• Floating required as needed
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months

Requirements

• Active RN license (WI or Compact)
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty
• CVICU experience required
• Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
• Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Respiratory skills required including ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, suctioning, and care of ventilated patients
• Cardiovascular skills required including CVP monitoring, CABG care, epicardial pacing wire management, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath care, and Swan-Ganz monitoring
• CRRT/CVVHD experience required
• Skills required include titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and administration of emergency medications
• Cardiac monitoring skills required including dysrhythmia interpretation/management and 12 lead EKG/ECG acquisition
• Infection prevention and isolation precaution/PPE knowledge required
• Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients including those post cardiac surgery, cardiac catheterization, and intervention
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric rhythm identification with strict passing criteria
• Located at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital ranked among the nation's leading referral centers
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
