Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring CVICU experience and NextStage CVVH machine proficiency at a Magnet-designated, Level I trauma teaching hospital.
Details
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) setting within a Level I trauma teaching hospital
- Patient ratio of 1:2-3
- Night shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 13-week assignment
- Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic charting system
- Requires use of NextStage CVVH machine
Requirements
- Active WI or compact RN license required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience within the last 3 years in CVICU specialty
- CVICU experience required
- Experience and knowledge of NextStage CVVH machine required
- Epic EMR experience required, preferably within the past 12 months
- Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area experience preferred
- Must pass a telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to starting, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and an 80% or higher passing score
- Travel healthcare experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, BiPAP/CPAP, and care of ventilated patients
- Experience with CVP monitoring, CABG, epicardial pacing wires, post cardiac surgery care, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition, and emergency cardiac response
- Skilled in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE, and phlebotomy
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and cardiac interventions
- Located at a Magnet-designated facility ranked as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
