Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring recent acute care experience and Epic proficiency at a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Med/Surg Tele unit of a hospital environment
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
- Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- 4x12 schedules also accepted
- Floating required as needed
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
- BLS certification required (AHA only)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, including adult and pediatric dysrhythmia identification with strict passing criteria
- Skilled in IV therapy, central line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and suctioning
- Experience with wound care, ostomy management, and feeding tube care
- Experience managing IV insulin protocols, PCA, and heparin administration
- Experience with renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients including cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and emergency response
- Utilize rapid response and code teams when needed
- Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Must reside within 50 miles of the facility to be considered; local candidates not accepted
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this assignment
- Located at a Magnet®-designated facility ranked Wisconsin's #1 hospital and recognized as a leading teaching institution and referral center
