Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Level II Trauma Emergency Department, requiring a CA RN license, BSN, and 2+ years of ED experience.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• 12-hour evening shifts with variable start times
• 1:4 patient ratio
• Ability to float to other UCSF facilities within a 75+ mile radius as needed
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BSN required
• AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• CEN certification preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• 2+ years of ED experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel experience within the last 12 months required
• Epic experience required
• Cerner proficiency preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and ventilated patient care
• Skilled in chest tube insertion/management and ABG interpretation
• Skilled in intubation, IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
• Experience with emergency medications and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• 2 professional references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care in a fast-paced Level II Trauma Center setting
• Apply isolation precautions/PPE and perform triage duties
• Support cardiac emergency response and neurological cases such as CVA
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with dates, units, and manager names for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager prior to start; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as traveling candidates
• COVID-19 vaccination and booster required, with proof or documented appointment needed prior to start
