Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Operating Room circulator for a Level II Trauma Center, requiring strong multi-specialty surgical experience and AL or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center surgical unit with 15 beds, including 2 CVOR rooms
  • Circulate-only RN role covering General, Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, ENT, Vascular, Gyn, Urology, Robotics, Plastics, and Eye cases
  • Minimal pediatric patient population, typically orthopedic cases
  • Patient ratio of 1:1
  • 12-hour day shifts (0630-1900), Friday through Sunday, 36 hours per week
  • No floating required
  • On-call rotation required: one weekday and one weekend per month (Friday 3p-7a, Saturday 24hrs, Sunday 24hrs) with 30-minute response time
  • Uses Cerner EMR, Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitors

Requirements

  • Active RN license (AL state or compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong experience required in Trauma (no burns), Neuro, General, Vascular, ENT, Ortho spine, Ortho total joint, Gyn, Endovascular, Urology, Robotics (General and Neuro), Plastics, breast, and eye cases
  • Robotics experience with Mazor or DaVinci XI preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience required for first-time travelers
  • Well-rounded circulating experience across multiple surgical specialties required

Additional Information

  • Support on the unit includes an ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and service line team leaders
  • Orientation is 2 weeks on day shift with expectation to take buddy call during this period
  • Expected to work one holiday per contract terms
  • Green scrubs provided
  • Parking available in a parking deck
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait 6 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers considered with at least 2 years of experience; candidates with only 1 year of experience will not be accepted
