Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring TX/compact RN license and at least 1 year of L&D experience.

Details

• 18-bed Labor & Delivery unit with 54 total staff
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge/CNC, 8-10 RNs, 1-2 OB techs, and 1 HUC
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge/CNC, 8-10 RNs, and 1-2 OB techs
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines: 1:1 for Pitocin, C-section delivery, and recovery; 2-3 antepartum patients
• Uses GE fetal monitoring equipment
• EMR system is CPN Meditech
• On-call requirement of 1-2 shifts per schedule
• May float to Mother Baby as a resource only when needed outside of Women's Services
• Night shift schedule from 7PM to 7AM
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
• Skilled in labor management
• Experience circulating cesarean sections required
• Intermediate or advanced AWHONN or NCCEFM certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, Advanced 9th Edition, from American Academy of Pediatrics required
• BLS certification required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

• Perform vaginal deliveries, C-sections, triage, and iron infusions
• Team-oriented culture with an emphasis on positive attitude and patient-centered care
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers may be considered
