Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a night-shift community hospital assignment requiring CA RN licensure and 2+ years of L&D experience.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit within a community hospital setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- 13-week assignment length
- Any charting system experience preferred
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products
- Experience with medication administration including antihypertensives, antiseizure medications, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and terbutaline
- Proficient in labor and delivery management including assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, and recovering C-section patients
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external fetal heart monitoring (EFM)
- Skilled in postpartum care including fundus, lochia, and perineum care
- Experience with pain management including epidural anesthesia and PCA use
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum patient care including antepartum triage and neonatal care in the delivery room
- Perform APGAR scoring and ID/security banding for newborns
- Manage postpartum complications including bladder distension, cesarean section recovery, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
- Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
- Holiday coverage may be required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contract
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
- Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
- Returning employees must have a minimum 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers considered
